One and a half months of studying and one million+ overworked neurons later,
I’M FINALLY DONE WITH THE GRE!
What an experience test taking was. During the first math question, I got a serious mental block. I kept reading the question over and over but my brain couldn’t seem to decode the letters and make out any meaning (momentary aphasia?). I spent so much time on the first question that I knew I was going to be dead for the whole Quantitative part of the exam. This conscious thought got me down a bit; nevertheless, I tried my best to keep the momentum going. I still had around 10 questions left when the timer read 4 more minutes. I practically SHOTGUNNED those 10 questions at the same time thinking, ‘Dear Lord, I’ll definitely need to retake this test.’
After the whole exam, I decided against nullifying that test (I was considering it though) and my scores were flashed on the monitor. I couldn’t believe it. I kept blinking to make sure I wasn’t delusional at that point. My scores were definitely not perfect 800s, but they were pretty darn good considering my unexpected and cursed mental block. It must have been Divine Intervention, really. I kept thanking that Higher Being up there till I got home.
I’m so happy right now. Just glad this is all all over and that it ended well. :)
